I am a biological and physical oceanographer, with expertise in air-sea CO2 exchange, surface ocean biological activity, mesoscale eddy processes, and the application of Earth observation and in situ data to address these topics.

My PhD focussed on the biological controls on the air-sea CO2 exchange in the South Atlantic Ocean from satellite observations. This work used Earth observation data and nerual networks to extrapolate sparse in situ observations to estimate the air-sea CO2 exchange and highlighted that including the quantified biological contribution improved current estimates. Further to this, the mesoscale eddy contribution to the CO2 exchange was quantified using Lagrangian eddy tracking.

I am part of Professor Jamie Shutler's research group (JamieLab) and my research code is deposited on the JamieLab Github.
