Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Centre for Geography and Environmental Sciences

Zoë is a marine geologist and is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Exeter. She completed an MSci in Geological Oceanography at Bangor University, before earning a PhD from the University of Southampton, Durham University, and the British Antarctic Survey. Her PhD research focused on reconstructing the retreat of the Anvers-Hugo Ice Stream, located on the Western Antarctic Peninsula, following the Last Glacial Maximum. Prior to her appointment at the University of Exeter, Zoë was a post-doctoral researcher at Trinity College Dublin, where her research focused on reconstructing sea-level changes around the Irish coastline during the Holocene.

Zoë is currently working with Convex Seascape Survey (Homepage - Convex Seascape Survey), a five-year programme focused on carbon stored within continental shelf sediments. The programme has several work packages investigating the sources and stores of organic carbon, as well as the impact of human influence, seafloor life, and biodiversity on seascape carbon stores.
