Dr Yasser Maghsoudi
Senior Lecturer
Environmental Mathematics Group
Overview:
I am a member of Centre for Environmental Mathematics. My primary research interest is in radar remote sensing, with a focus on utilizing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data for diverse applications such as geohazard monitoring, land deformation, sinkhole and slow-moving landslide detection, environmental studies, and infrastructure monitoring.
Before joining Exeter, I was a member of the Centre for the Observation and Modelling of Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tectonics (COMET) at the University of Leeds, where I led the development of a global ground deformation monitoring service called COMET-LiCSAR. This involved implementing an automated satellite-based processing system to deliver Sentinel-1 InSAR data for monitoring global tectonic and volcanic regions as well as geohazards.
