Bioantika is a PhD candidate jointly based at The University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute and the University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines, under the QUEX Institute’s collaborative research program. Her doctoral research focuses on the optimisation of ore‑sand by‑products within copper mineral processing circuits, drawing on multidisciplinary approaches across geology, mining, mineral processing, and waste‑prevention innovation.

She brings more than five years of industry experience across mining companies and consulting firms, including her role at Vale, where she contributed to projects spanning Vale Canada, Indonesia, and Brazil. Bioantika holds a B.Eng in Mining and Mineral Engineering and an MSc in Mining Sustainability. Her academic pathway has been supported by multiple scholarships and funding schemes, including awards for her undergraduate studies in Indonesia and the United States, the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarship for her master’s degree, and funding from Newmont and the QUEX Institute for her PhD.
 

Throughout her PhD, she collaborates closely with the Sustainable Minerals Institute, Newmont Australia, and Anglo American Chile.
