Bioantika is a PhD candidate jointly based at The University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute and the University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines, under the QUEX Institute’s collaborative research program. Her doctoral research focuses on the optimisation of ore‑sand by‑products within copper mineral processing circuits, drawing on multidisciplinary approaches across geology, mining, mineral processing, and waste‑prevention innovation. Bioantika’s doctoral research is supervised by Prof. Daniel Franks (University of Queensland), Dr Juliana Segura-Salazar (University of Queensland), Dr Rob Fitzpatrick (University of Exeter), and Dr Christian Antonio (University of Queensland).

She brings more than five years of industry experience across mining companies and consulting firms, including her role at Vale, where she contributed to projects spanning Vale Canada, Indonesia, and Brazil. Bioantika holds a B.Eng in Mining and Mineral Engineering and an MSc in Mining Sustainability. 
 

Bioantika's PhD is funded by Newmont and the QUEX Institute. Throughout her PhD in CSM, she collaborates closely with the Sustainable Minerals Institute (University of Queensland), Newmont Australia, and Anglo American Chile.
