Chaithanya is a NERC GW4+ DTP funded Doctoral Researcher at the Camborne School of Mines, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Exeter, Penryn. Her PhD investigates the evolution of the South Asian (Indian) Monsoon from the Holocene to the Early Pleistocene using foraminiferal proxies, integrating morphometric analyses, stable isotope geochemistry, and climate modelling. She is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research, combining methods and perspectives from various fields.


Her earlier research spans environmental science, stable isotope geochemistry, and atmospheric processes. She holds a BS–MS Dual Degree in Earth Sciences, with a minor in Biological Sciences, from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. She completed her master’s thesis at the Australian National University as part of the Future Research Talent (FRT) Award, 2025 cohort.
