My research, teaching and consultancy experiences are mainly in the geology and utilisation of Earth Resources, specialising in industrial minerals (clays, limestones, silica sands, feldspars, micas, etc), construction materials, and some metalliferous ores. These are complemented by interests in applied mineralogy and petrology, and associated analytical techniques. I have substantial geological fieldwork experience in the UK and several other countries. I have provided expert witness evidence in High Court cases involving geology and mineralogy. I am active professioally in extractive industry geology and geoconservation.
