Dr Kathryn Moore

Office hours

You will be able to find me in my office for two non-consecutive hours each week. For Term 1 2024-2025, these are usually on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, though sometimes to changed to reflect year 2 gaps in timetables. Please see the notice on my office door for the exact times.

Kate Moore is Senior Lecturer in Critical and Green Technology Metals at the Camborne School of Mines. She investigates the sourcing and security of supply of the raw materials that are needed for the low carbon energy and transport transition, using geological and social earth science methodologies. She is an authority on the subject of technological small-scale mining. Kate leads and teaches core hard-rock geology subjects in the BSc Geology Programme.

In 2023, she received the RCPS medal award in recognition of outstanding acheivements and contribution to Cornwall in the field of science and in 2019, she was a Futurium finalist for Women-led Innovation in the European Union.
